Thatcher – Recovered & Adopted

Thatcher was rescued from the shelter with a rare and serious medical condition, two openings in the roof of his mouth that allowed food and water to pass from his mouth into his nose and lungs. Without immediate intervention, eating and drinking were dangerous and life-threatening.

Red Collar Rescue acted quickly to get him the surgery he urgently needed to repair the defect and give him a chance at a safer, healthier life.

During his veterinary evaluation, another challenge was discovered, Thatcher’s vision was rapidly declining. He was diagnosed with Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome (SARDS), a condition that leads to eventual blindness.

Despite everything he was facing, Thatcher remained incredibly loving, happy, and full of trust. His spirit never dimmed.

Today, Thatcher is safe, thriving, and has been adopted into a wonderful forever home where he is deeply loved, proof that even with significant medical challenges, a beautiful life is still possible.
