Morsel – Recovered & Adopted

Morsel

We rescued Morsel from the shelter and noticed she was straining to go to the bathroom. Bloodwork, urinalysis and x-rays revealed she had a serious life-threatening infection of the uterus called Pyometra.

Morsel had emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus and ended up losing a lot of blood and needed a transfusion. She continued to decline and had to be rushed to the ER, where she underwent a second surgery for internal bleeding.

Things were looking up, but then her vitals started dropping again, and in order to save her life, she had a third surgery to remove a blood clot.

Surviving 3 surgeries in less than 24 hours is an absolute miracle! After 2 weeks in the ICU, Morsel was able to go home with a loving foster mom who continues to nurse her back to health. She is only 5 lbs and 3 years old and is now living her best life in her new forever home!
