Walter was the victim of a hit-and-run. Just 16 lbs and 2 years old, this little guy suffered a broken femur, cuts, and bruises after being struck by a car. The driver didn’t stop, but a kind passerby did. They rushed Walter to the shelter, who in turn reached out to us for urgent help.
We got Walter to the vet right away, where X-rays confirmed his femur was broken. Orthopedic surgery was performed to repair the damage, and his leg was stabilized with a metal plate and pins. Walter spent weeks on crate rest, enduring bandage changes and healing with the help of a dedicated foster family.
And here’s where the story gets even sweeter, his foster mom and her K9 pup fell head-over-heels for him. It wasn’t long before Walter officially became a permanent member of their family.
From roadside rescue to a forever home full of love, Walter is now living his BEST LIFE, and we couldn’t be happier for him!
