TADPOLE, a mere 2.5 lbs and 5 months old, was turned into the shelter emaciated and struggling to breathe. We rushed him to the ER and then to the cardiologist at Texas A&M due to congestive heart failure and advanced PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus). Tadpole’s situation was dire and immediate heart surgery was his only option!
Due to the severity of his case and his poor body condition, the surgery carried a high risk, but we knew for sure he would die without it. With the best team of vets assembled, we moved forward with the surgery. Many prayers and hours later, Tadpole pulled through! He is now able to breathe on his own and getting stronger every day, but may need heart medications for the remainder of his life. Our current goal is to get him stronger and healthier to be able to live a long and happy life!
We are so happy to report that Tadpole found his forever home!
