SWEETART, a 1 year old and 11 lb. little girl, was turned into the shelter in very critical condition! Her right rear leg was mangled and broken in several places, and all of the skin and tissue was ripped off. Her pelvis was also broken and displaced on both sides. Unfortunately, her right rear leg was beyond repair, and had to be amputated.
This posed a problem, as she couldn’t use her left rear leg due to her severely injured pelvis. In order for Sweetart to have a chance at a happy normal life, she also had surgery to her pelvis. She is like a puzzle that had to be put back together! Despite her condition, she is just a love bug! She is doing well and learning to walk on 3 legs!
We are happy to report that Sweetart has found her forever home!
