Posey’s story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. In an attempt to kill fleas, her former owners sprayed her with yard pesticide, causing her to vomit and suffer repeated seizures. Instead of seeking medical help, they brought her to the shelter and requested that she be euthanized.
With seconds to spare, we rushed Posey to the ER, where she was immediately classified as a Level 1 emergency. She was treated with IV fluids, seizure medication, and muscle relaxers, and placed on 24/7 watch. For days, it was uncertain whether Posey would survive or suffer permanent neurological or organ damage.
Miraculously, Posey pulled through with no lasting effects. Today, she’s a happy, healthy, 30-lb pup with a big heart, living her best life with a loving family that truly values her.
From the brink of tragedy to a new beginning, Posey’s second chance was made possible thanks to quick action, expert care, and the compassion of those who believed she was worth saving.
