When Pierre came into rescue, the small senior dog had clearly endured years of neglect. At around eight years old and only ten pounds, he had never received proper veterinary care and had been left to roam outside on his own. After suffering an injury to his mouth, his owners no longer wanted him, and a caring neighbor stepped in to help.
Once in rescue, Pierre’s medical needs quickly became clear. He required extensive dental surgery, including multiple tooth extractions, as well as treatment for a serious condition called bilateral perineal hernias, where organs push through weakened muscle near the pelvis. Correcting the condition required a complex surgical repair.
Despite everything he had been through, Pierre proved to be a resilient and gentle little dog. After surgery and recovery, he began enjoying the comforts he had likely never known before, soft beds, loving care, and plenty of affection.
Now healing beautifully in a foster home, Pierre is finally experiencing the life he deserves. This sweet senior is ready for his own happy ending with a loving forever family.
