Our miracle heart surgery survivor puppy Tadpole has been discharged from A&M, and is back in Houston with a medical foster parent!
Tadpole was turned into the shelter emaciated and struggling to breathe. Red Collar rushed him to the ER and then to the cardiologist at Texas A&M due to congestive heart failure and advanced PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus.)
Tadpole’s situation was dire..immediate surgery was his only option! Due to the severity of his case and his poor body condition, the surgery carried a high risk, but we knew for sure he would die without it. With the best team of vets assembled, we moved forward with the surgery. Many prayers and hours later, Tadpole pulled through!
He is now able to breathe on his own, but may need heart medications for the remainder of his life. Miracles do happen, and Tadpole is living proof!
