Meet PURPLE, one of our Kaleidoscopic Kids.
Purple’s Mom GiGi, was turned into the city shelter with an injured front leg. Red Collar pulled her to safety, but sadly our vet determined the leg was fractured in several places and could not be saved.
A post surgery checkup a couple of weeks later, revealed a surprise – GiGi was pregnant. Fast forward a few weeks and 6 puppies were born on March 25th- 3 boys and 3 girls.
GiGi is a young 14 lbs Papillon mix. We think her puppies will be a little bigger in the 18 to 25 lbs. range.
Comments from Purple’s fosters:
Purple is the most adventurous. She was the first to open her eyes and ears and is the first to investigate her surroundings. She is also the first one to wean herself off from nursing. She loves to explore and is very bright.
The puppies will be ready for introductions to potential families on June 11th and ready to go new homes June 20th.
We prefer that any kids in the home be at least 10 years of age.
