Lola Bell was confiscated from living in deplorable condition chained up on a patio. She was taken to the city shelter where she was evaluated as follows: severe malnutrition, all skeletal bones visible, barely able to get up or walk or even raise head, two puncture wounds on her neck with greenish discharge, punctures and swelling on both elbows, seroma under neck, strong smell of urine on legs and fur, hookworms, diarrhea, lethargic, and dental disease.
At an estimated 5-7 years old and with her severe medical condition, Lola Belle was quickly added to the shelter kill-list. It seems so unfair when animals are rescued from cruel conditions only to be euthanized.
Lola Belle is now safe with Red Collar Rescue! Her wounds have been treated, her dental work done, and her weight is now normal. She was 22 lbs at intake and is currently 42 lbs. She has been spayed and is a healthy lady!
