LAUREL has had a very rough life! She was found roaming the streets emaciated and in bad shape by a police officer who brought her to the shelter. Laurel has a large scar on her back which appears to have been caused by a chemical burn, and her front right wrist was previously fractured. Because of her medical issues, Laurel was quickly placed on the shelter kill-list. A shelter employee took a special interest in Laurel, sent us a video of her, and begged us to save Laurels’ life, which we did with no time to spare.
Laurel is appears to be a Cattle Dog mix. She is approx 2 years old and 35 lbs. Her wound has healed, and she has been spayed, vaccinated, etc. Laurel’s wrist fracture did not heal exactly properly, but she is able to walk okay and is not in any pain. The orthopedic surgeon believes it is best to leave her wrist alone, as surgery could potentially make it worse.
Despite all the bad things that life has dealt Laurel, she is super sweet to both humans and other K9 kids. Laurel is currently in a foster home and doing well with everyone! She is very affectionate and happy! She is crate-trained and house-trained.
