In December of 2010, Charlie (fka Freeway) was rescued from the side of I-10 where he had been hit by a car and lay for several days unable to move. It was a daring rescue with police involvement to stop traffic so we could get him. Fortunately, Charlie recovered and was adopted into a loving home. His mom was a young law student at the time, and Charlie her first K9 kid. They have been together the past 11 years.
We were contacted by his mom recently. She has sadly been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and time is not on her side. She asked if Red Collar Rescue would please take Charlie back, and make sure he is taken care of for the rest of his life. This is truly a heartbreaking situation.
Charlie is safely back in our care, but he is confused and missing his mom. He is about 12 years old, 70 lbs, in good health, and sweet with people, dogs, and cats. Please contact info@redcollar.org if you have room in your heart and home for Charlie. Our thoughts are with his mom as we pray and hope for a miracle.
