ALVIN is the sweetest boy ever! He does not let his horrible past affect his love for people and life! Alvin is a gorgeous black Lab mix, approx 1 year old and 35 lbs.
Alvin was confiscated by authorities in horrific condition from his owner’s back yard. He was kept on a chain 24/7, and it became embedded into his skin as he grew, and had to be surgically removed, Alvin appeared to have a vision problem, so we took him to the ophthalmologist and discovered he has retinal degeneration. He has some sight during the day, but is almost blind at night. This disease normally occurs much later in life. Per the eye doctor, poor nutrition in Alvin’s early months could have led to early on-set of this condition, for which there is no cure.
Alvin is ready to find his forever family! Due to his previous life of being kept outside on a chain with no way to defend himself, Alvin is a bit nervous around young active dogs. He would do best in a home with a mellow K9 buddy to follow! He is house-trained and crate-trained and learning to walk on a leash.
