Paxton was rescued with severe burns running the entire length of his back. The cause of his injuries is unknown, but the extent of his pain and suffering was heartbreaking.
Despite his condition, Paxton remained incredibly gentle and affectionate, even giving kisses to his rescuers.
He was sedated for initial wound care, had his burns thoroughly cleaned, and was placed on high-dose antibiotics. Over the following weeks, he received daily hydrotherapy to aid healing, followed by surgery to remove remaining damaged tissue.
Through it all, Paxton showed remarkable resilience.
His journey touched many hearts, and his future family followed his story on Facebook, eventually traveling all the way from Boston, MA to meet him and bring him home.
