When Otto was rescued, he was suffering from devastating injuries after being shot. The young dog had a severe wound to his neck and shoulder, and X-rays revealed his right shoulder blade had been shattered into multiple pieces. The trauma to his front leg was so extensive that it could not be repaired.
To save his life, veterinarians had no choice but to amputate Otto’s front leg. While the surgery was necessary, it marked the beginning of a long recovery as Otto learned to adapt to life on three legs.
Despite the cruelty he endured, Otto remained incredibly sweet and trusting with everyone around him. His gentle personality quickly won over the hearts of his caregivers as he adjusted remarkably well to being a tripod.
Today, Otto is thriving in his new forever home, where he’s celebrating life with a loving mom by his side. What began as a heartbreaking rescue has turned into a beautiful second chance for this resilient boy.
