Orchid was surrendered to the city shelter by her owner suffering from severe genetic glaucoma. The condition had gone untreated for so long that one eye had become dangerously enlarged, leaving her blind on that side and in significant discomfort.
Red Collar Rescue knew her story didn’t have to end there. Orchid underwent a specialized procedure to reduce the pressure and bring the affected eye back to a normal size, helping relieve her pain and improve her quality of life. While she will require lifelong monitoring for glaucoma in her remaining eye, her future is no longer defined by suffering.
With ongoing care and support from RCR, Orchid now has the chance to live a full, happy, and comfortable life, one filled with hope, stability, and love.
