Nugget – Recovered & Adopted

Nugget’s life was hanging by a thread. He was dumped at the shelter in excruciating pain with numerous lacerations, large deep wounds, and extensive tissue swelling and bleeding, likely the result of an attack by another animal. Someone had even sprayed him with purple livestock treatment instead of seeking medical care.

Thanks to urgent rescue, Nugget spent 14 days in 24/7 critical care, undergoing two surgeries to close large gaping wounds, daily sedation for wound care, hydrotherapy, and bandage changes, along with IV antibiotics and pain management. This sweet boy fought through a life-threatening infection and months of rehab in a dedicated foster home.

Today, Nugget is healthy, happy, and living his best life! He was adopted alongside RCR Alum Woody and Puppydog, gaining not just loving parents but K9 siblings, duck friends, a pond, and over two acres to run and play. At 2 years old and 30 lbs, Nugget truly hit the jackpot.
