Ivey came to us from a crowded shelter where she was heartbreakingly placed on the kill list, all because of a large, deep wound on her neck from unknown trauma. The injury was dangerously close to her jugular vein, and she needed immediate emergency care.
RCR rushed her to Vergi 24/7, where she spent several days in critical care, receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, pain management, and daily surgeries to clean, debride, and close the wound. Despite everything she endured, Ivey still managed to wag her tail, a glimpse of her incredible spirit.
Weeks of care and love later, Ivey made a full recovery! Her foster mom couldn’t let her go, and she’s now living her best life with her new family, including RCR alum Jeremy and her brother Grayson.
From the brink of euthanasia to the warmth of a forever home, this is what rescue is all about.
