Howdy – Recovered & Adopted

Howdy came to us in critical condition after being hit by a car. At just 1 year old and 12 lbs, his tiny body had endured devastating injuries, broken ribs, internal trauma, necrotic wounds, and a shattered front leg. He was rushed to Texas A&M Small Animal Hospital, where he spent weeks in intensive care fighting to survive.

Even through the pain, he gave the vet tech a tiny tail wag when she greeted him with “Howdy”, and that’s how his name was born.

What followed was nothing short of extraordinary: four orthopedic surgeries, including the eventual amputation of his front leg after extensive efforts to save it. He also required surgery to repair a dislocated hip, months of rehab, and intensive wound care. Despite the setbacks, Howdy never gave up, and neither did we.

Through every challenge, Howdy remained a sweet, happy soul who loved everyone he met. His resilience inspired us daily.

Now fully recovered, Howdy has been adopted into a loving forever home where he’s living the life he fought so hard to reach. His story is a true testament to hope, healing, and heart.
