Hancock – Recovered & Adopted

On the eve of Independence Day, Hancock was found on the side of the road, lethargic, vomiting, and suffering from severe diarrhea. At only 5 months old and 7 lbs, he and his sibling had both contracted the often-fatal parvovirus. Tragically, his sibling didn’t survive.

With the shelter set to close for the holiday, a rescue plan was launched within hours. Thanks to the quick coordination of shelter staff, volunteers, and our team, Hancock was rushed to the ER and placed on 24/7 IV fluids, anti-nausea meds, and intensive supportive care.

Against the odds, Hancock pulled through. He spent several days in the ER and quarantine, but made a full recovery, and now, this tiny wire-haired Dachshund mix has a lifetime of July 4ths to look forward to with a loving family by his side.

Hancock is living proof that with fast action and the right care, even the most fragile lives can be saved.
