Monthly giving is the easiest way to support the mission of REDCOLLAR RESCUE. When you sign up to be a Top Dog, you’re providing our dogs with consistent, reliable financial support so that we can provide the ongoing care they need. Top Dogs make it possible for us to keep intake open so that we can help even the most critical cases when they need us.
Donating to REDCOLLAR RESCUE enables us to continue our work to change the lives of Houston’s homeless pets. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations. 100% of your tax-deductible* donation goes directly to the dogs and cats in our program. We have no paid employees and no overhead. We spend an average of $1,000 per dog and often much more due to the high number of critically injured and abused animals we take into our program.
Donations of all amounts are appreciated. Below are some of our basic expenses per animal:
$20 – flea, tick and heartworm protection for a month
$25 – a new leash, collar and tags
$50 – fecal test and heartworm test
$75 – crate, bed, and toys
$100 – exam and full set of vaccines
$250 – blood tests, spay or neuter, and micro-chip
$500 – one month of boarding, heartworm treatment or obedience training
$1000 – medical treatment for mild to moderate cases or intensive behavioral training
$2500 – medical treatment for moderate to severe cases
$5000 – medical treatment for severe cases
