Dolce was surrendered to the shelter; she was barely alive, weak, lethargic, and unable to eat. Without immediate medical attention, she wouldn’t have survived the night. The shelter sent out an urgent plea, and we rushed to save her just in time.
At the vet, Dolce was diagnosed with life-threatening pyometra, a severe infection of the uterus that, if untreated, is almost always fatal. She was quickly transferred to the ER, where she underwent emergency surgery at midnight to remove her infected uterus. Her tiny 6 lb body fought hard through septic infection and eight days of 24/7 critical care, and slowly, miraculously—she began to heal.
Today, Dolce is healthy, happy, and thriving. She has made a full recovery and is celebrating her first holiday season with a loving forever family and a new fur sibling by her side.
From being dumped at the shelter to living her best life, Dolce is proof that love, care, and second chances can truly perform miracles.
