When Arzu was found, he was in unimaginable pain after being attacked by another dog on the street. His injuries were severe, his penis was damaged beyond repair, and he was rapidly losing blood. He was rushed to the ER, where he required an emergency blood transfusion just to survive.
Once stable enough for surgery, Arzu underwent a complex procedure to amputate his penis and remove his scrotum/testicles. A new urinary opening was created, similar to that of a female dog, allowing him to live comfortably again. It was an incredibly delicate and rare surgery, followed by a week in critical care.
Despite everything he endured, Arzu amazed everyone with his resilience and gentle spirit. He wagged his tail through every vet visit and greeted his caregivers with trust and gratitude.
After a long recovery, Arzu’s story took the happiest turn of all; he and his sister Aryana were adopted together into a loving home in New York! Their foster parents even flew them there personally to ensure a smooth journey to their forever family.
